First Hire
If you haven't hired from VMI before - don't worry! We like to make things easy for you!
We differentiate between corporate hirers (and freelancers) and private hirers.
Corporate/Professional/Freelance Clients
Corporate Hirers need to have been trading for 12 months or more and be able to supply contact names and telephone numbers of companies who can be contacted to confirm their trading status. In the event of freelancers, then production companies or other professionals will also count.
Please download a new client form and fax or send this to VMI to rentaldesk@vmi.tv prior to your first hire and then VMI can hire to you.
It is a compulsory requirement for you to have a valid insurance policy in place when hiring equipment. VMI can provide damage waiver cover to £12,000 if you don't have your own policy in place. This is chargable at a rate of 15% of the hire value plus VAT.
A faxed or emailed order must also be supplied.
First hires are always on a COD basis.
Private Clients
VMI are unusual in being able to hire professional equipment to private clients subject to certain criterion and equipment values.
Before we can actually process your first order, we require:
- 3 forms of ID with your name and address, eg. driving licence,credit card bill. Please note that passports are not sufficient as they do not have your address information. One form of id must dated within 3 months of hire date.
- A credit card number is required to charge the rental payment in advance.
- It is a compulsory requirement for you to have a valid insurance policy in place when hiring equipment. VMI can provide damage waiver cover to £12,000 if you don't have your own policy in place. This is chargable at a rate of 15% of the hire value plus VAT.
- Finally, VMI take a £400 deposit on credit or debit card whilst the equipment is in hire in addition to the hire fee.
Private hires must be collected by the hirer who also must sign a declaration that any damage or losses are chargeable to their credit card. As a result, no deliveries are possible to private hires until you have hired from us a few times and we get to know you.
