Sony PMW-F3 Large Sensor Sony XDCAM EX Camcorder with a native PL mount with Ki Pro Mini Recorder for 4:2:2 record Broadcast quality as no charge upgrade option for 4:2:2 acquisition at up to 220 Mb/second.

Large sensor Sony XDCAM EX Camcorder with a native PL mount to allow film lenses to be fitted.Good connectivity with HD-SDI output • Records natively  using XDCAM EX codec at 35Mb/s @ 4:2:0 non Broadcast codec.

Multiple Lens Mount Options

A PL mount is supplied as standard with the PMW-F3 to use film lenses with this camera.  However VMI also can supply a Nikon EOS mount without charge for you to use Zeiss and Nikon DSLR lenses and also you can now attach Canon EOS lenses too using the MTF Electronic EOS Mount or Metabones electronic EOS Adapter

Now Broadcast Quality with Ki Pro Mini Recorder

A Ki Pro Mini external recorder is now offered as a no charge upgrade option.  This facilitiates recording at 50Mb/second or up to 220Mb/second data rate recording to Prores and with full Broadcast quality. The advantage of shooting in Prores is that you record in native Apple Final Cut Pro format with you transcoding required prior to editing.

S-Log now standard for onboard and 422 recording

Firmware v1.4 now offers s-log as standard as a picture profile setting for onboard and single 1.5G HD-SDI up to 422 recording. Multiple gamma settings as also been added in a baked in option for quick turnaround productions.

S-log for 444 with LUT

VMI can now offer an S-log output option on PMW-F3 camcorders, which enables 444 RGB dual link SDI recording for an incredible leap in quality.  S-Log option for Sony PMW-F3 to permit 4:4:4 dual stream output and expanded colour range. It changes the gamma curve, which effectively changes the dynamic range from around 11 to almost 14 stops. You need to add £65 per day for this and this includes either a PIX240 or Gemini 4:4:4 recorder  This is firmware which is uploaded to a VMI camera when configured and prepared for hire, so is not really a rental item by iteself.  LUT settings for on set preview is possible with this option.

It is also possible for a Sony S-Log signal to be recorded with the full benefit of 4:4:4 mode to Gemini.
