The Sony FS700 is an NXCAM camcorder with a superior Super35mm CMOS sensor, super slow-motion capability and an interchangeable E-mount lens system, offering unrivalled flexibility and creative expression. The FS700 is also supplied with the SEL 18200 (E 18–200mm F3.5–6.3 OSS) 11x zoom E-Mount lens, with the Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilisation system.

This is an exceptional camcorder for slow motion as it shoots up to 480 frames per second at 1920x1080 or up to 960 frames per second at 1280x720, however be aware that this is at 21 Mb per second AVCHD codec, so far from Broadcast quality - still for snippets of super slo-mo, it is fantastically good and exceptional value for money.

The camera has a Broadcast quality sensor (actually 4K), though the on-board recording device only records in AVC HD codec at 25Mb/second, so it requires an external HD recorder such as NanoFlash/Ki Pro/Samurai etc for Broadcast acquisition and this won't work at slow motion speeds either.

If you want to shoot 4K, you will need to use a suitable external 4K recorder such as Gemini 4K etc.

Our kits are supplied with 2 c 32GB Class 10 SD cards which will allow up to 6 hours recording at 25p:

High-end production functionality

Based on customer feedback, the FS700 includes a number of features providing familiar professional operation and workflows, including 50/60Hz switchability, built-in ND filters, 3G-SDI interface and an enhanced exterior design.

4K “Exmor” Super 35 CMOS sensor

The FS700 camcorder uses a new 4K “Exmor” Super 35 CMOS sensor (total 11.6 million pixels). This high-speed readout chip is optimised for motion picture shooting, giving high sensitivity, low noise and minimal aliasing. A future firmware upgrade will enable the FS700 to output 4K RAW bit-stream data over 3G HD-SDI when used with an optional external 4K recorder.

Super slow motion at 10x at full HD or 40x at lower resolutions

Incredible super slow motion capability of up to 10x slow motion at full HD resolution or up to 40x slow motion at a reduced resolution, giving you creative options that were once only available with specialist high-end equipment.

E-mount interchangeable lenses offer a wide choice of lenses

The E-mount interchangeable lens system utilises an extremely short flange back distance allowing you to use a huge array of lenses via a range of adaptors giving you almost unlimited creative options.

SEL 18200 lens supplied

The supplied SEL18200 (E 18–200mm F3.5–6.3 OSS) with the FS700 boasts 11x zoom power, a quiet AF motor for cleaner sound recording, and Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization with an advanced Active mode that lets you take steady handheld shots while walking around — even without a bulky stabilization rig.

Built-in ND filters

The FS700 features built-in, ultra-thin ND filters, offering exceptional shallow depth-of-field on highlights. It also means less accessories to manage as no external ND filters are required.

3G-SDI interface and HDMI

A 3G-SDI output enables easy integration with highest quality recording formats.

Switchable 50 Hz and 60 Hz shooting

The FS700 is switchable between 50 Hz and 60Hz to allow 24p shooting in PAL areas and no PAL/NTSC limitations.

Selectable magnification and positioning of expanded focus

Expanded focus improvement allowing 4x and 8x magnification and a moveable area of expansion for easy focusing with shallow depth of field.

Camera profile settings storage on memory card

Up to 99 camera profile settings can be stored, allowing rapid adaptation to multiple shooting environments without time wasted adjusting parameters. Settings are also easily shared in multi-camera productions.
