RED ONE M-X
Mysterium-XRED ONE™ large sensor digital film camera with M-X Sensor and VMI upgraded accessories. A camera which has transformed the creative attitude towards electronic image acquisition.
Since it's release RED has provided film-makers with a commercially viable alternative to 35mm film and more fiscally exclusive HD products. This ability to produce the highest quality images at a price point and a policy of constant firmware refinement has placed RED at the vanguard of affordable cinema acquisition.
VMI recognise the continuing creative viability of this camera with comprehensive and flexible shooting packages designed to meet creative and budget requirements.
A streamlined package specifically designed to maximise shooting options with upgraded accessories from Element Technica and Anton Bauer. With a 35mm PL lens mount allows you to take advantage of beautiful film lenses - choose from Cooke S4, Zeiss UltraPrime or Zeiss SuperSpeed lenses. Alternatively, by fitting a ZF lens mount means that you can also fit ZF-mounted Zeiss and Nikon stills lenses.
VMI RED Camera Systems
Robustly built with superior options from other ‘standard’ RED kits to make the system more ergonomic and reliable.
We supply Element Technica viewfinder mounts with Element Technica Viewfinder extensions and levelling arm for ergonomic operation and Element Technica breakout box as standard.
Element Technica anti-shock suspension mounts are supplied to safeguard against vibration damage for extra security for the drives.
When RED batteries are changed, the RED camera needs to be powered down and rebooted - which means you lose 2-3 minutes every time RED batteries are changed. However VMI RED systems are different with ultra-reliable Anton Bauer ‘intelligent’ power systems which are equipped with a hot-swap bracket permitting 2x batteries to be used simultaneously on the camera. This enables batteries be replaced without powering down the camera.
VMI's REDs are supplied pre-built into custom aluminium flight cases for maximum practicality, speed and efficiency and avoids a time-consuming build every time the camera is taken out of the box.
VMI RED One Camera kit contains:

- 2 x 320GB RED RAID Drives (approximately 3hrs of 4K material each) and fitted with Element Technica shock-mounted drive cradles.
- 4 x 8GB RED Compact Flash (CF) cards (approximately 4 mins 4K material each)
- 5 x Anton Bauer Dionic 90 batteries with Anton Bauer dual hot-swap battery plates (3 Hrs operation per pair of batteries) • Anton Bauer 4 way charger
- Element Technica breakout box

There are many options to accompany this kit including various matte boxes, follow focus, HD monitors, wireless lens control system and film lenses made by Carl Zeiss, Cooke and Angenieux.
Suitable rigs available for hire are the Mantis or the Easyrig Cinema 3.
DIT Operator and Mac - loaded with Final Cut Pro, Red cine, Red_alert and also Veescope Live available if you book a VMI DIT.
