Nexto DI NVS-2525 Video Storage Pro

This is the later version of the excellent Nexto 2500, which now includes a second 750GB Power-over E-SATA drive that allows for a backup at incredibly fast speeds. It also includes a dedicated P2 slot, so no adapters are required and a compact flash adapter is also supplied, so this is compatible with all major solid state cameras including XDCAM EX, P2, DSLRs, MXF camcorders etc - note however that this is NOT compatible with UDF systems such as Alexa and Sony PMW-500 in UDF format (compatible in FAT32 format). You will need the special UDF version which we now stock for Alexa or PMW-500 in UDF mode.

This product really works, though the replay functionality is quite basic (just really good enough to see if you have a recording and only around 12 fps) and it due to processing limitations, AVC Images are replayed even slower.

Speed of Transfer

The best functionality though is that it is fast (SxS: 80Mb/s, P2E: 76Mb/s, P2: 70Mb/s, CF via adapter: 90Mb/s) and reliable and has a really easy one-button operation. Take a card out and reinsert it and the system recognizes that the card has already been transferred and it will ask whether you want to verify the data. The Full verification now support up to 86Mb/s.

You can always make simultaneous two identical copies of your data with parallel processing but the best bit is that having returned to base, you can replace the external hard drive for a new external hard drive and the system can very quickly replicate a backup version of the data stored. In this way, you can then wipe the internal 750GB hard drive and always have 2 copies of your data.
If you drop it, it also registers that the altitude is changing too quickly for comfort and automatically parks the internal hard drive to avoid shock damage.
