Blog / News VMI awards Best Shorts award at KIFF 1 July 2022 — by Barry Bassett VMI loves to support new entrants to the industry and is proud to have been a partner and sponsor of the best short film at the inaugural new film festival held in June in Kingston, LONDON. The first Kingston International Film Festival (KIFF) took place over the weekend of 24-26 June 2022 and amazingly managed to show 99 films in 5 venues over the 3 days – everything from shorts to features, with the aim of celebrating a diverse range of established and emerging talent and provide a terrific boost to the UK TV & Film Industry. Beth Park winning Best Short Film at KIFF 2022 Watching films and meeting people are two of our favourite things and what better environment to do this than a brand new UK-based film festival for which we don’t even need to travel out of London! We decided to sponsor an award for the best short film, since short films are HARD to make for independent filmmakers with little or no budget and Beth Park, the winner of the Best Short Film for her film, Fishwife, was a worthy winner. In addition to winning this prestigious award, VMI also presented Beth with a voucher for equipment hire worth £1,500. Well done Beth!
