VMI Held Successful MikroMak Events

VMI held some workshops at VMI Acton at the start of February 2025, to help DPs to learn about why MikroMak and InfiniProbe lenses are different to other macros and probes, what applications are they particularly suited and also, most importantly, how best to use them. These were well attended and DPs were able to play with the different lenses and master how best to use them.

A well-kept secret is that a little known group of macro lenses exist called ‘Nelsonian’ lenses, which were invented by Jay Margolis and include both the world-renowned TS-160 InfiniProbe and also the MikroMak lenses, which aren’t like any other lenses that you are likely to have seen before, as they are based upon Telescope and Microscope principals – I took it upon myself to learn about them during COVID lockdown and wrote this comprehensive article about what they can do and how to use them and actually won the annual ‘Nelsonian’ award for this study.
