For cameras larger than 4.5kg, consider instead the Ronin Extension arm system which has a higher payload capacity.
As with the regular Ronin system, is features a compact flight case and a speedy installation and balancing process to facilitate less preparation time.
The marketing USP of these systems is to signify the ability to deliver smooth camera movement in any situation and to have capabilities in size and flexibility whilst being quick to setup, easy to transport and solidly built and their ease of setup and build quality is the reason why we stock so many of these units in favour of competitive systems.
The Ronin-MX has been designed to carry many of the cameras used every day on sets worldwide, and SmoothTrack algorithms ensure movements are smooth in every configuration. A repositioned battery improves balance while stability is enhanced by a camera cage that locks mounted cameras in place at the top and at the bottom. Silent motors prevent on set mics picking up motor noise.
The DJI Ronin features locking clamps instead of custom allen screws, so the balancing and locking mechanisms are much faster. It has a custom battery design, will battery readout and no loose cables. There are no charging and power dangers of lipo batteries on the Ronin.
Follow mode and remote mode can be switched between extremely easily, and the custom iOS
Transform tilt and pan movements on the Ronin into smooth and stabilized camera angle changes.
*** Please note, if you are supplying your own camera, then please include a powering cable to D-Tap, if you wish to power from the Gimbal batteries, as none are supplied with VMI kits ***
Once you have afixed and balanced a camera to the Ronin, then you are ready to shoot and don’t need any other accessories but we offer several accessories which will make yours a better and more functional experience! All are optional but all are fully compatible and mounting points for these peripherals are provided, so that you can choose them with confidence that they will work.
SO REMEMBER THOUGH, that you will need to fully accessorise your camera with all peripherals before balancing. Even a memory card, lens cap or camera battery will be sufficient to unbalance the camera, so be clear as to how you want to use the camera and accessorise it fully ahead of the balance process to save you time!
C stand with K clamp and sandbag: a device for resting the camera and device. The sandbag is necessary to drape on the arm of the C stand to counterbalance the weight of the device. A Ronin table stand is provided without charge as part of the basic kit.
ReadyRig Support system. The DJI Ronin when fully fitted is a heavy device and you will need to rest after a long take, so do consider this device which moves the weight from your arms to your torso.
TV Logic 5.6″monitor Bridge-mountings are provided to mount the monitor if you don’t want use the camera’s own LCD display.
Wireless Lens control systems allow a focus puller to operate focus. Compatible are Redrock wireless LCS, Hocus Axis 1 LCS or Preston FIZ Lite
You may want to have a Director’s monitor and this must by design be wireless, so we provide either the Teletest Telesend device, which is small but HDMI input only, so compatible with DSLR cameras such as Canon 5D, Canon C300 and also RED EPIC. For HD-SDI use, we have many wireless video links which can be supplied with a wide range of monitors but is not supplied with one as standard.
