Most importantly, having the ring quite wide, is unlikely to cause discomfort to the subject being filmed, though at 1.9kg (without batts), this is heavier than compact ringlights but has the advantage of being totally universally compatible with all DSLR and film lenses.
The basic design mounts to 15mm bars to be designed to be camera-mounted and whilst the design includes dual Sony NPF battery sockets (batteries supplied), it is also possible to power the light from the camera using a D-Tap output to save weight.
The system draws just 32W so will power for a very long time and the light output of 2,193 lumens is punchy.
It features daylight/tungsten colour temperature adjustment via a knob (3200-5600K) as well as an onboard dimmer from 0-100% and the wide beam-angle allows for an even spread of light.
