This camera is also capable of recording XAVC-I, XAVC-L and MPEG HD onto XQD cards. By utilising the same S-Cinetone gamma curve as the Sony Venice, the FX9 achieves increased dynamic range and skin tones over regular Rec709.
Note that this camera can mount directly to APS-C (Sony E Mount Lenses) without using any adapter.
We are also including the ARRI Pro Set to allow for standard film accessories to be fitted. The ergonomic grip design for easy handling and operability, making it ideal for single shooter operation.
Interchangability of the α Mount lens system with provided adapters allows either A mount of EF mount lenses to be used to maximum advantage and including iris control too.
16 bit RAW record outputs, timecode output and additional networking capability are available only if used with the Extension Unit (XDCA-FX9).
Also, using the SDA-FX9 permits VLock batteries to be mounted directly to the rear of the camera.
VMI kits are supplied with 2 x 128GB memory G cards which will allow up to 6 hours recording at 25p: Equipped with high-sensitivity 4K Super 35mm Exmor CMOS sensor. See specs tab for record durations.
The FX9 features a full frame 6K 35.7 by 18.8mm back-illuminated Exmor-R CMOS sensor. This sensor is stated to have 15 plus stops of dynamic range and has a resolution of 6008 x 3168. You will be able to shoot QFHD full frame up to 30fps, 1080p full frame at up to 120 fps and QFHD S35 up to 60fps and 1080p S35 at up to 120fps. The planned firmware updates will bring Full frame DCI 4K up to 60p, Full HD full frame up to 180fps and QFHD in Super 35 mode at up to 120fps while using an external recorder.
