VMI receives accreditation of Living Wage Employer Status

VMI has received formal recognition of its status as a fully accredited Living Wage Employer.

This is the only UK wage rate based on living costs of £10.55 per hour in London and £9 per hour in Bristol.

I am a firm believer in the idea that if you pay people well and treat them well, then they will stay with you and you in turn will receive more from them too.

Barry Bassett, Managing Director, VMI.TV

As a consequence of this initiative, which went live in June 2019, all trainees employed at VMI can expect to earn at least the ‘Living Wage’ within 6 months of employment.

VMI and others helping to train the next generation of technicians with Apprenticeship Programme

In order to help train the next generation of technicians, VMI Managing Director, Barry Bassett, is chairing a “Trailblazer Group” representing 10 other London-based camera rental and sales organisations, to design and implement an Apprenticeship Standard, in order to train 16-19 year olds in becoming fully-trained camera technicians.  This is expected to be launched in Q2 2020, involving VMI.TV, S+O Media, Movietech, Focus 24, Shift-4, ARRI Rental, Panavision, Shoot Blue, Brownian Motion & CVP.
