It offers excellent waveform and other monitoring and is ideal for on-set director’s monitoring or digital cinematography alike. In our opinion, at 1.6kg without the operational case, this monitor is too large for on-camera use. However, it includes an operational flight case with integral stand and sun visor and can be supplied if requested with tilt-top mounting on a light stand, so that it can be used at shoulder height.
The OR-901-XDI 9″ ORCHID rack mountable / portable field monitor has all the features that customers have asked for including fully automatic HD-SDI to HDMI / HDMI to HD-SDI cross conversion. The OR-901-XDI is 4RU and has 9 user-assignable function keys as well as a rotary menu system. ORCHID monitors include a variety of 3D production tools and anaglyph views. The built-in waveform monitor (which includes adjustable White and Black clip level indicators) can be displayed in three different aspect ratios including Full Screen. The built-in Vectorscope displays in full color and can also be displayed in three different ratios. The Vectorscope has adjustable gain from 1x to 5x.
The OR-901-XDI will de-embed and display up to 16 channels of audio and allow the user to monitor any two channels at once through the headphone jack or rear line output jack. Also includes built-in front panel speaker and rear panel stereo input for audio monitoring. The 64-segment tri-color bar graph meters have user-adjustable reference levels. The OR-901-XDI comes standard with auto-sensing 3G-SDI, HDMI, and analog inputs, along with fully automatic cross converted HD-SDI and HDMI outputs. This unit can be used in a rack, on a desktop, in the field, or mounted to a camera.
The ORCHID series now includes 3D production tools including four Anaglyph 3D modes as well as five 3D analytic views. In order to make use of this feature, the source can be formatted as a single Side-by-Side Half Horizontal input.
A 22 x 18 x 4.5cm lightweight alloy case houses a 9” 960×540 LED backlit LCD display. It is supplied in an operational flight case with integral stand and sun visor and Anton Bauer battery mount (optional batteries supplied on request).
