It has an 82mm thread and is supplied with 58mm and 77mm ring adapters to fit with Cooke SP3 primes.
It allows over 4 stops of light reduction by rotating the control ring to manipulate the ND to 4 stops of light in order to manipulate depth of field and precise control of exposure.
