VMI to give a talk on Super Low Light Production at the Wildscreen Festival on Tue 16 October.

Barry Bassett, VMI’s Managing Director, will be giving a talk on Super Low Light Production at the Wildscreen Festival on Tuesday 16th October at 9.30-10.30am. The talk called, “A Shot in the Dark” will be given by VMI Managing Director, Barry Bassett and will include guest speakers including Mark Brownlow, BBC NHU Senior Producer, Peter Collins, Head of Factual (Pioneer Productions); Hannah Ward, Camera Operator/PD (Pioneer Productions, Nocturnal Britain) and Daniel Gill (Colourist, The Farm).  Special material will be shot, graded and screened for the first time at this event. 

This talk will cover the creative, technical and operational issues concerning shooting in extremely low light drawing on the experiences of 4 Industry professionals and covering case studies including the Mobular Ray sequence from BBC’s Blue Planet 2 and Pioneer Productions’, Nocturnal Britain.  Specially shot and graded material will also be shown to demonstrate direct comparisons of low light performance using the Canon ME20 FSH and Sony A7S Mk II camera.

Also on Tuesday 16th October at Wildscreen, VMI is also sponsoring the Happy Hour Drinks at the Wildscreen Hub on Tuesday 16 October at 5.30-6.30pm and Barry will be around the hub every day until Wednesday drinking lots of coffee, so if you fancy meeting up for a chat about a potential future project, then feel free to give him a call on 07966 531182.
