Cooke 1.8x Anamorphic Full Frame SF lens set (40-100mm/T2.3)

Cooke 1.8x anamorphic Full Frame lenses are Cooke’s version of their very popular anamorphic/i lenses, only they cover Full Frame and incorporate a 1.8x anamorphic squeeze, compared with the regular 2x squeeze.  This is enough to generate the beautiful oval bokehs associated with anamorphic acquisition.

These lenses however include the SF coating which allows for even more creative options. The “SF” stands for Special Flair because they allow you to kick the flares, bokeh and other aberrations into new visual territory.

In common with all Cooke lenses, the S7A 1.8x anamorphic lenses offer superb optical and mechanical performance. Distortion, veiling glare, flares, and all aberrations are controlled at all apertures over the whole field of view. Like all Cooke S4/i, 5/i and miniS4/i prime lenses, the cam focus mechanism allows for smooth focus adjustments. Modular construction increases ease of maintenance and serviceability.

Cinematographers may be surprised that the widest lens in the basic set is a 40mm, however, this has the equivalent spherical field of view of a 22mm but as this covers Full Frame, has the equivalent field of view in S-35 of around 15mm.
