Wireless lens control system designed for DSLR lenses

Came TV low cost wireless single channel lens control system for operating focus up to 60 meters (30m in built-up area).

Please note that this is a product at a price point, so in our view this is suitable for DSLR productions and Gimbal use but in fairness, other systems will have higher performance.

The system works with all cine-style and film lenses and is especially suitable for DSLR lenses, as it incorporates programmable end stops, so it can be used on Canon SLR lenses and similar lenses which have an infinitely rotating focus barrel. (Please note that you will need a 15mm bars system installed on the camera and cine-gear pitch follow-focus ring installed to the lens in question. If you use your own SLR lenses, then Zacuto Zipgear external gears systems are available for sale to install a focus ring on request if using your own lenses).

The receiver/motor is one unit and will power from an industry standard 12V D-tap plug, which VMI includes with many camera kits and is built into the DJI Ronin kits too.  Note that you may need an external power solution if you don't have a D-tap solution already.

The transmitter includes its own rechargeable batteries and also includes a USB input, so that you can power this from a portable phone battery.

Note that remote start-stop cables are not provided with VMI systems.

Review from DP, Frank Madone, November 2016

We used it on an old angenieux and it held its own. I know its meant for canon style stills lenses, but it did work! and we actually used it a few times as a microforce on the zoom. It wasn't perfect but again it held its own. The great thing was that it was lightweight and small and easy to set up. Calibration per lens was a bit fiddly but all around, it did what it said it would and a little more.
