The Sony FX6, the compact version of the FX9, has a surprisingly high degree of specification.  Full Frame capture with native E mount, in common with the FX9, we are providing a Metabones EF mount to offer compatibility to both E mount and EF mount lenses and an optional PL mount too.

In addition, we are providing the Sony XLR-K3M XLR adapter and the CVP viewfinder mod as standard, which converts the LCD panel into a proper viewfinder loupe, shared by the FX9 and also provides 2 x XLR audio inputs as well.

The Hawkwoods V-Lok battery mount and 3 x Hawkwoods Mini V-Lock batteries are supplied as standard.

Whilst this is a small camera, it offers Netflix-approved 4K quality and we are providing a modified ARRI base plate solution to fit 15mm bars, though be aware that presently, no compatible 19mm bar solution is available.

In short, this is a small, compact, lightweight and versatile camera which can be used effectively in a Gimbal capacity, or as a shoulder-mount camera, though it has some limitations and is not as solidly built as its bigger brother, the FX9.

Also, please note that whilst we provide an ARRI modified base plate with 15mm bars with 19mm bars support option, there is no ARRI top plate available, as ARRI don’t make one, so this is very much a lightweight camera for lightweight lens applications.

  • Amongst many other updated features, this camera has a Dual Native ISO of 800 & 4000, Internal Variable ND, 15 Stops of Dynamic Range, Timecode in/out, Wifi for monitoring and menu changes through the appropriate Sony App.

Note that this camera can mount directly to APS-C (Sony E Mount Lenses) without using any adapter.

We are also including a modified ARRI 15mm bars base plate to allow for standard film accessories to be fitted (note no top bar). The ergonomic grip design for easy handling and operability, making it ideal for single shooter operation.

Interchangeability of the α Mount lens system with provided adapters allows either A mount of EF mount lenses to be used to maximum advantage and including iris control too.

VMI kits are supplied with 2 x 128GB memory cards which will allow up to 6 hours recording at 25p:
