The C300 Mk III holds Canon’s newly developed 4K Super 35mm DGO sensor and DIGIC DV7 image processor, delivering exceptional high-resolution images with 16+ stops of latitude.
It also has an impressive low light capability, with improved low noise, of up to ISO 102,400 where the human eye cannot easily see.
It can be supplied with a choice of native PL or EF mount and will record 4K+ images in 16:9.
The PL mount can read Cooke/i data.
Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF Technology function really has to be seen to be appreciated. There are many AF modes which can allow the user to totally avoid the feared ‘focus hunt’.
High-speed Continuous AF auto focus, smooth, intuitive touch focus operation as well as an improved focus control that recreates a more natural focus pull. To further fine tune AF performance, the EOS C300 Mark III offers the ability to set the AF tracking speed and response.
Clearly, this requires suitable Canon AF lenses and the most recent EF lenses offer the best auto focus functionality.
Dual card slots enable simultaneous internal recording of 4K Cinema RAW Light files in either 10/12-bit or 4K XF-AVC files 4:2:2 10-bit onto CFexpress cards. XF-AVC supports ALL-I which delivers the best quality, and Long-GOP which enables longer recording times through higher compression. A Proxy can also be recorded onto an SD card, making editing work more efficient.
The Canon C300 Mark III can shoot continuous 4K recording at up to 120fps (in Cinema RAW Light and XF-AVC.)
In 2K (crop) mode, frame rates from 12 fps up to 180 fps can also be set for greater creative freedom, while a dedicated Slow & Fast button, provides quick access to the desired Slow & Fast setting.
Includes a built-in electronically controlled ND filter, supporting 2/4/6 and an extended 8/10 stops.
Canon’s 5-axis camera shake correction can be used with all lenses with or without electronic lens communication.
Electronic IS is possible by manually inputting the focal length.
There are 2 XLR inputs on the camera body. An additional 2 3-Pin XLR are an option when combined with the Expansion Unit EU-V2.

The EOS C300 Mark III supports ACES 1.0 of the Academy Colour Encoding System. Using Canon supplied IDTs, images captured on the EOS C300 Mark III can be imported directly into the ACES compatible systems.
Additionally, video output from the camera can be monitored by selecting the ACES Proxy.
Users can design their own LUTs and load them onto the camera for precise-look monitoring, also, users can apply different LUTs for each output terminal.
A dedicated LUT button gives additional operational flexibility.
VMI provides C300 III/C500II cameras with 3 x large on-board Canon batteries as standard, in order that the camera can be operated in the most compact form-factor possible, however we are also offering a V-Lock battery back and 5 x Hawkwoods V-Lock batteries as a chargeable extra for maximum versatility. Please note that the Canon Expansion II backs also incorporate a V-Lock battery clip and V-Lock battery clip as part of the upgrade package price, if preferred.
VMI kits are supplied with 3 x 512GB CF Express cards. This card format can provide a sustained data rate of up to 1700 Mb/s.
